Hey Folks,
Have ideas for discussions, questions, or presentations that you'd like included at an upcoming Web Design Meetup? Or, would you like to volunteer to lead a presentation or discussion? Please post your ideas here and we'll try to fit them in! Thanks, eric Edited by Eric A. on Jul 17, 2008 9:24 AM |

Possibly. . . I could introduce the (FrontPage is dead) new Microsoft Expression Web application and run the Total Training DVD if Sean brings his projector. The Total Training is a professional introduction/teaching platform for Expression Web. The DVD uses a professional trainer. . .I think it would be far more informative than my attempts to illustrate EW.
Maybe we could do just one chapter in the DVD . . .which would run about ten minutes. What do you think? |

I never thought I'd say this...but could we possibly have a Dreamweaver discussion? I shudder at the thought of using it, but I think if I got over my hesitation with accepting help on my code, I might be able to grow a lot. LOL

Not sure how you guys feel about this one, but I'd like to hear a discussion on Graphics and Picture Libraries for use in graphic design. I've previously used stock.xchng (which is free) for my stock photo needs but I'd like to hear how you guys come up with your ideas and where you go for a broad selection of quality images. I'm open to the idea of purchasing libraries if that's what most designers do, but really don't know where to go. Anyhow, thought it might be a good topic for discussion at a Meetup. I'm going to post this as a new discussion topic as well to see everyone's opinion since its something that I'm looking at right now.

Eric,
Was thinking that a discussion on font types, font managers and online sources of fonts (fee-based vs. free vs. packages vs. individual fonts) would be a good topic... Would be immensely helpful to me right now... might benefit someone else as well. I'm currently looking at a few options: Fonty Python and Fontmatrix for the manager and myfonts.com for an online source. Would like to hear about problems (organization, performance issues, etc..) people have encountered with having a large number of fonts installed on their linux laptop/desktop and how they tried to alleviate it. |

I would love a discussion on e-commerce. I'm most conferrable with c# and have been dabbling in Silver Light but finding the learning curve to be a bit steep.
