New Year's Web Design Meetup

Peninsula Library (map)

Selected By: Eric A.
We have members of all skill levels, who use many different tools for design and development. It's a fun, laid-back group that is casually structured and very newbie-friendly.

In our first meeting of 2008, we'll discuss:

  • Some ideas/goals for our group in the New Year.
  • Our personal design/development goals in the New Year.
  • Your questions/issues/rants

Plus we'll have a presentation and discussion called:

"The What, Why and How of CSS"

  • What are Cascading Stylesheets and why should we use them in our web designs?
  • Some cool tools for constructing and editing CSS.
  • Some basic CSS syntax every designer should know.

Of course, we like our presentations to contain lots of participation, so bring your CSS questions, tips, resources, rants and problems. ;)

NOTE: This meeting's on a Saturday morning because that's what was available on the schedule. Normally, we meet on a weekday evening. Drag yourself out of bed anyway - you won't be sorry.

Please sign up and RSVP - we love to have new members.

Oh, and Dave said he might bring his Kinesis keyboard, which is supposed to be a little more ergonomic to cut down on repetitive stress.

I'm a little nervous about attending as it's my first one - but I'll be there. No one will be upset if I have nothing to bring, right?

Nope, Missie, no need to bring anything except yourself.

And, there's no need to be nervous, we're all a little introverted, none of us bite, and we get along nicely. :)
