Agenda - Branding Code
Presentation by Alan Jones

However you look at it clients are requiring more and more branding in their digital content, it's no longer just 'look and feel'.

While everyone else is specializing these two fairly diverse disciplines are merging; designers are coding and coders are designing, and it's an open field for those who can do both.

I'll give a few tips on getting good at branding your code:

  • Simplifying font options. (it's easy to do and complicated if you don't.)
  • Working with a brand manager. (hitting targets with subjective bullets.)
  • Building websites around existing brands. (how to create a site that works with a logo and brand identity.)
  • Constructing/launching a brand with a website. (create immediate interest in a new website.)
  • Designing banner adverts (or Facebook ads).
  • Working with limited tools.
  • Choosing your words.
  • I'll also be giving some logo design pointers.
  • If you're asked to design a logo should you say 'no'?
  • What if you're not creative?
  • How much should you charge?
  • Is there a recipe for designing a logo?
